The employer is seeking a Cyber Security Specialist to protect organizational systems, networks, and data from cyber threats.
The role involves identifying vulnerabilities, implementing security measures, and ensuring compliance with security standards.
Key responsibilities
- Monitor network traffic and systems for security breaches or suspicious activity.
- Identify vulnerabilities and implement appropriate countermeasures.
- Conduct regular security assessments, audits, and penetration testing.
- Develop and enforce security policies, procedures, and best practices.
- Respond to incidents and provide timely resolution and reporting.
- Manage firewalls, intrusion detection and prevention systems, and antivirus solutions.
- Ensure compliance with local and international cybersecurity standards.
- Provide security awareness training to staff.
- Stay up to date with cybersecurity trends, threats, and technologies.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Cyber Security, Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.
- Minimum 2–3 years of experience in cybersecurity or information security roles.
- Strong knowledge of network security, firewalls, VPNs, and IDS/IPS systems.
- Familiarity with security frameworks and standards such as ISO 27001 and NIST.
- Experience with vulnerability assessment tools and SIEM solutions.
- Understanding of Windows, Linux, and cloud security is a plus.
- Relevant certifications such as CEH, CISSP, or CompTIA Security+ are preferred.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and documentation skills.
Preferred skills
- Experience in incident response and digital forensics is preferred.
- Knowledge of scripting or programming, including Python or PowerShell, is preferred.
- Familiarity with AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud is preferred.
Employment and pay
- Job type is permanent.
- Pay is QAR 5,500 per month.
Workplace
- Work location is in person in Doha, Qatar.
