Responsibilities
- The Creative Director of Motion leads the strategic vision, creative direction, and execution of motion-led storytelling across brand, product, digital, social, and experiential marketing channels. This role combines creative leadership with deep expertise in motion design, animation, visual systems, and emerging technologies to deliver best-in-class creative solutions that strengthen brand expression and drive engagement.
- As a senior creative leader, the Creative Director is responsible for working closely with Group Creative Director of Content design to help define motion standards, mentor creative talent, present work to cross-functional partners and stakeholders, and elevate the role of motion throughout the organization. The ideal candidate is an experienced communicator and can balance strategic thinking, creative excellence, and hands-on execution across 2D and 3D motion design, animation, visual effects, and immersive content experiences. The ideal candidate is detail oriented, an empathetic leader, adaptable, and willing to navigate hard situations with composure and confidence.
Qualifications
- Skills and qualifications:
- 7+ years experience as a motion designer with a portfolio and body of work to reflect that.
- 2+ years experience managing other creatives in a fast paced environment, and knowing how to confidently navigate complex situations and projects.
- Experience creating content that is on-brand, on-strategy, leverages current platform trends and is true to a brand's style, voice and aesthetics.
- Deep understanding of production workflows as they pertain to motion and knowing how to elevate work to a high standard. A passion for craft no matter the medium, tool or software.
- Experience presenting and giving feedback on creative work in a corporate environment.
- Expertise in:
- Visual Systems, Brand design, UX/UI and how they come to life through motion.
- 3D Product design, animation, Rendering as well as VFX techniques and post-production pipelines.
- Interest in learning new tools and emerging technologies to optimize workflows and create efficiencies.
- Conceptual and technical thinking to troubleshoot and solve creative problems.
- Tools and Software:
- Adobe Creative Suite, expert proficiency in After Effects + Premiere
- Maxon Cinema 4D + Redshift/Octane (and or Blender)
- Adobe Substance, Painter and Designer
- Lottie, Rive and creating motion for web/digital
- Figma
- Experience with AI tools such as Figma Weave, Adobe Firefly, ChatGPT, Replit and Copilot.
- Employment eligibility to work with American Express in the U.S. is required as the company will not pursue visa sponsorship for these positions.
