General Summary
Hardware Engineers plan, design, optimize, verify, and test electronic systems, circuits, FPGA and DSP systems, equipment, packaging, and related technologies.
The role involves collaboration with cross-functional teams to develop solutions and meet performance requirements.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Electrical/Electronics Engineering, Engineering, or a related field and 6+ years of hardware engineering or related experience.
- Alternatively, a master's degree in a relevant field and 5+ years of hardware engineering or related experience.
- Alternatively, a PhD in a relevant field and 4+ years of hardware engineering or related experience.
Preferred Qualifications
- A master's degree in a relevant field is preferred.
- 12+ years of hardware engineering or related experience is preferred.
- Experience with circuit or logic design and validation, schematic capture and circuit stimulation software, and hardware measurement instruments is preferred.
- At least 1 year in a technical leadership role is preferred.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities
- Plan, optimize, verify, and test critical electronic and integrated hardware systems.
- Implement advanced hardware design rules and processes and conduct complex simulations and analyses.
- Collaborate with cross-functional engineering teams on requirements, testing, yield, quality, and production solutions.
- Evaluate reliability and manufacturing techniques while improving productivity through automation and optimization.
- Advise and lead engineers on complex hardware designs and review technical documentation.
Level of Responsibility
Work independently with minimal supervision and provide guidance to other team members.
Make significant decisions affecting work beyond the immediate group.
Communicate complex information through written and verbal communication, including negotiation and influence when needed.
