Cost Controller providing full cost-control coverage for Qatar.

Core Responsibilities
- Own country or entity cost-control activities and ensure project and operating costs are captured accurately, completely, and on time.
- Track budgets, commitments, actual costs, accruals, purchase orders, subcontractor costs, and other cost drivers.
- Reconcile costs between operational systems, procurement, warehouse, accounts payable, payroll, and the general ledger.
- Monitor WIP, cost-to-complete, unbilled costs, and project-related accruals with Finance and Operations.
- Prepare monthly cost reports, budget-versus-actual analysis, cost-to-complete analysis, and variance explanations.
- Review cost allocation methodologies and assign costs to the correct project, cost center, profit center, and analytic dimension.
Project Accounting and Reporting
- Support revenue recognition and project accounting, including percentage-of-completion and IFRS 15 assessments where applicable.
- Provide reliable cost data for contract assets and liabilities, billing versus revenue, WIP, and project accounting inputs.
- Support management reporting and external or statutory reporting requirements.
Period-End Close
- Follow the approved close calendar and submit assigned schedules, journals, and reconciliations within deadlines.
- Investigate unusual balances and material movements and provide clear explanations.
- Maintain audit-ready working papers and evidence for material balances and adjustments.
ERP, Data, and Automation
- Use Odoo or another ERP as the system of record and maintain accurate projects, cost centers, analytic accounts, dimensions, and master data.
- Use Excel and, where available, Power Query, Power Pivot, Tableau, dashboards, or reporting tools to automate reconciliations and recurring reports.
- Participate in ERP testing, user acceptance testing, master-data governance, and accounting process improvements.
Qualifications and Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline.
- Strong knowledge of double-entry accounting, month-end close, reconciliations, financial reporting, and internal controls.
- Strong Excel skills; Power Query, Power Pivot, Tableau, Odoo, and SAP experience are highly desirable.
- Ability to work with multi-entity, multi-currency environments and maintain disciplined supporting documentation.
- Fluent professional English; Arabic is advantageous for regional roles.
- Typically 2–5 or more years of relevant accounting experience, depending on assigned scope complexity.
Controls and Risk Management
- Comply with approval matrices, segregation-of-duties requirements, access controls, and documented accounting procedures.
- Identify control failures, unusual transactions, duplicate payments, unsupported balances, or potential fraud indicators and escalate them.
- Protect financial information and maintain confidentiality.
- Support internal and external audits and close audit findings within agreed timelines.
Stakeholder Interfaces
Work with Finance leadership, GL, AR, AP, Treasury, Cost Control, Operations, Project Management, Commercial, Sales, Procurement, Supply Chain, HR, Payroll, Tax, Legal, Compliance, auditors, banks, ERP, IT, Data, and Group Finance teams.
Success Profile and Scope
Success requires reliable numbers, clean reconciliations, strong documentation, disciplined controls, and timely reporting.
Regional work additionally requires consistent cross-country processes, proactive communication, and ownership of remote stakeholders.
Approval, banking, tax, statutory-signatory, and other formal responsibilities remain subject to delegation of authority, local law, Group policies, and final organizational design.
