Contracts director - Data Centre

Role Overview

Core Responsibilities

• Lead commercial and contractual strategy for data centre development and expansion programmes.
• Negotiate site, land, infrastructure, power, connectivity, access, capacity, space, cooling, security, and critical infrastructure agreements.
• Lead negotiations with landlords, developers, operators, utilities, infrastructure providers, contractors, suppliers, and strategic customers.
• Draft, review, and negotiate MSAs, leases, licences, development agreements, service agreements, capacity agreements, and schedules.
• Manage contractual risk, governance, compliance, variations, claims, disputes, renewals, and commercial performance.
• Partner with Legal, Development, Engineering, Procurement, Finance, Operations, and Programme Management teams.
• Provide senior-level commercial advice to executive stakeholders and ensure contracts support programme objectives and future capacity.

• Commercially astute and strategically focused Contracts Director able to operate at board, executive, project, and technical levels.
• Experienced in translating complex data centre requirements into robust contractual structures while protecting commercial interests and maintaining flexibility for future growth.
• Recognised for leading high-value negotiations and managing complex stakeholder environments.

• Core location agreements include site, land, development, access, power, utility, fibre, connectivity, easement, and infrastructure access arrangements.
• Core spaces include technical and operational spaces, white space, equipment areas, power and cooling infrastructure, MEP and utility spaces, and shared technical areas.
• Contracting includes customer and operator access, space allocation, capacity agreements, expansion, and future-proofing provisions.
