Responsibilities
- Draft, review, and negotiate contracts to ensure clarity, compliance, and adherence to legal standards
- Prepare contractual agreements using current research methods and knowledge of client needs
- Collaborate with internal teams to gather requirements and address concerns related to contract terms
- Conduct risk assessments to identify potential liabilities and ensure contracts minimize risks
- Maintain organized contract documentation, tracking key milestones, deadlines, and renewal dates
- Review contract terms for compliance with company policies and applicable regulations
- Provide expert guidance on contract related matters including interpretation, implementation, and dispute resolution
- Stay current on changes in laws, regulations, and industry standards impacting contract management
- Manage Extension of Time Claims and Financial Claims for Infrastructure and Building Contracts
- Draft RFQs, evaluate tenders, negotiate and finalize subcontracts
Requirements
- 5–10 years of experience in contract management, procurement, or a related field
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Law, or a related field; relevant certifications (e.g., Certified Federal Contracts Manager) are a plus
- BS degree in Engineering discipline (Manufacturing, Mechanical, Industrial, Operations Research) preferred
- Strong understanding of contract law and legal terminology
- Excellent negotiation and communication skills
- Strong compliance orientation and attention to detail
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- In depth knowledge of procurement regulations, contract documents and legal specifications
- Proven work experience as a Contracts Specialist or similar role
