Requirements
- Board certification in Pediatric Radiology or equivalent
- Tier 1: Minimum 2 years relevant experience as a consultant post board certification
- Tier 2: Minimum 8 years full time employment as a consultant post board certification (includes fellowship training) in internationally accredited institute
- Clinical fellowship training may substitute for experience as per UAE Nationals criteria

Job Description
- The Consultant Physician is responsible for leading and supervising the delivery of high quality evidence based care; effectively and efficiently diagnosing, managing and treating all patients placed under the post holder’s care. Responsibilities
- Supports, implements, and follows all hospital, departmental and divisional initiatives, policies and procedures
- Helps lead and implement the organization’s performance management system, including peer review and the productivity and utilization review processes
- Participates in the organization’s performance management system, including peer review and the productivity and utilization review processes
- Assists with scheduling and supports the Division Chief in ensuring that adequate medical coverage is provided within the Division at all times
- Attends Divisional meetings as required
- Assists the Division Chief in the recruitment of new medical staff when appropriate
- Assumes other administrative or clinical duties as requested by the Division Chief
Technical Duties
- Diagnoses and treats patients according to established standards of best practice for the post holder’s specialty
- Oversees the clinical activities of the junior medical staff and assumes responsibility for the care they provide
- Complies with all established hospital polices regarding admissions, consultations, daily patient care, surgical procedures, discharge protocols, outpatient and follow up practices
- Practices appropriate utilization of the organization’s resources
- Leads ward round; reassesses both inpatients and outpatients on a regular basis, in line with established best practice
- Accurately documents all relevant clinical information in a clear and timely fashion in accordance with established procedures
- Regularly reviews results of all investigations and modifies treatment as required
- Liaises with other medical specialties and support services for additional input as required
- Actively participates in multi disciplinary meetings to help plan effective, safe and holistic care for individual patients
- Ensures preparation of patients for all procedures including obtaining informed consent
- Accepts clinically appropriate referrals from the Emergency Department, primary care, other departments, specialty clinics, walk in patients, and patients referred from other hospitals
- Participates in and ensures the provision of out of hours (on call) coverage on a rotational basis including evenings, nights, weekends and public holidays as required
Qualifications
- Tier 1: NLT 2 years relevant experience as a consultant or equivalent post board certification.
- Tier 2: NLT 8 years full time employment as a Consultant or equivalent post board certification (includes years in fellowship training) in internationally accredited institute.
- For UAE Nationals: Clinical Fellowship training following primary specialty board may substitute for experience as follows: Each year of clinical fellowship is counted as two years of clinical experience. Only applicable to clinical subspecialty fellowship in Australia, New Zealand, Canada, UK, USA
