About the Role

Responsibilities
- Diagnose and treat patients according to established standards of best practice for the specialty
- Lead ward rounds and reassess inpatients and outpatients regularly
- Oversee clinical activities of junior medical staff and assume responsibility for their care
- Participate in multi disciplinary meetings to plan effective, safe and holistic care
- Ensure preparation of patients for procedures including obtaining informed consent
- Participate in on call coverage on a rotational basis
- Help lead quality improvement within the Department
- Promote and participate in clinical research and publication
Requirements
- Tier 1: Minimum 2 years relevant experience as a consultant or equivalent post board certification
- Tier 2: Minimum 8 years full time employment as a Consultant or equivalent post board certification in an internationally accredited institute
- Current national license or equivalent
- Certified proof of yearly CME

Job Description
- The Consultant Physician is responsible for leading and supervising the delivery of high quality evidence based care.
- The Consultant Physician is expected to be an example of clinical excellence and provide leadership and training for junior medical staff.
Responsibilities
- Supports, implements, and follows all hospital, departmental and divisional initiatives, policies and procedures.
- Helps lead and implement the organization's performance management system.
- Participates in the organization's performance management system.
- Assists with scheduling and supports the Division Chief in ensuring adequate medical coverage.
- Attends Divisional meetings as required.
- Assists the Division Chief in recruitment of new medical staff when appropriate.
- Diagnoses and treats patients according to established standards of best practice.
- Oversees the clinical activities of junior medical staff.
- Complies with all established hospital policies regarding admissions, consultations, daily patient care, surgical procedures, discharge protocols, outpatient and follow up practices.
- Practices appropriate utilization of the organization's resources.
- Leads ward round; reassesses both inpatients and outpatients on a regular basis.
- Accurately documents all relevant clinical information in a clear and timely fashion.
Qualifications
- Tier 1: NLT 2 years relevant experience as a consultant or equivalent post board certification.
- Tier 2: NLT 8 years full time employment as a Consultant or equivalent post board certification in an internationally accredited institute.
- For UAE Nationals: Clinical Fellowship training following primary specialty board may substitute for experience.
- Qualification from Tier 1 or Tier 2.
- Current national license or equivalent.
- Certified proof of yearly CME.
