Job Description – Consultant Pediatric Hematologist**Location:** Dubai, UAE

Job Summary

  • We are seeking a highly qualified and experienced **Consultant Pediatric Hematologist** to join a leading healthcare provider in Dubai, UAE.
  • The successful candidate will provide comprehensive diagnostic, therapeutic, and preventive care for infants, children, and adolescents with benign and malignant hematological disorders.
  • The Consultant will deliver evidence-based, family-centered care while ensuring the highest standards of patient safety, clinical excellence, and compliance with **Dubai Health Authority (DHA)** regulations.
  • Key Responsibilities* Diagnose, evaluate, and manage pediatric patients with hematological disorders, including anemia, hemoglobinopathies, bleeding disorders, thrombophilia, thrombocytopenia, bone marrow failure syndromes, and hematologic malignancies.
  • Manage children with sickle cell disease, thalassemia, hemophilia, immune thrombocytopenia (ITP), aplastic anemia, leukemia, lymphoma, and other blood disorders.
  • Interpret laboratory investigations, bone marrow aspirates and biopsies, coagulation studies, genetic testing, and molecular diagnostics.
  • Develop individualized treatment plans, including chemotherapy protocols, blood product transfusions, immunotherapy, and supportive care where appropriate.
  • Evaluate and manage pediatric patients requiring stem cell transplantation in collaboration with transplant teams.
  • Provide inpatient consultations, outpatient hematology clinics, and emergency hematology services.
  • Collaborate closely with Pediatric Oncology, Pediatric Intensive Care, Infectious Diseases, Pathology, Radiology, Transfusion Medicine, Genetics, and other multidisciplinary teams.
  • Counsel and educate patients and families regarding diagnosis, treatment options, long-term follow-up, and survivorship care.
  • Maintain accurate clinical documentation in accordance with hospital policies and regulatory standards.
  • Participate in multidisciplinary meetings, tumor boards, clinical audits, quality improvement initiatives, morbidity and mortality reviews, and Continuing Medical Education (CME).
  • Supervise and mentor junior physicians, residents, fellows, nurses, and allied healthcare professionals.
  • Ensure compliance with patient safety, infection prevention, and clinical governance standards.
  • **Requirements**
  • Qualifications & Requirements* MBBS/MD or equivalent medical degree from a recognized institution.
  • Completion of an accredited residency in Pediatrics.
  • Fellowship or Board Certification in **Pediatric Hematology** or **Pediatric Hematology & Oncology** from a recognized international board (American Board, Canadian Board, CCT, FRCPCH, Arab Board, Australian Board, or equivalent).
  • Minimum **5–10 years of post-specialization experience** at the Consultant level.
  • Eligibility for or possession of a **Dubai Health Authority (DHA) Consultant License**. Candidates eligible for licensing are encouraged to apply.
  • Expertise in the diagnosis and management of pediatric hematological disorders, including hematologic malignancies and coagulation disorders.
  • Experience in administering chemotherapy and managing hematology-oncology patients is preferred.
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and clinical decision-making skills.
  • Commitment to delivering high-quality, patient-centered, evidence-based care.
  • Preferred Candidate Profile* **PQR Tier 1 and Tier 2 qualified professionals will be given preference.**
  • Experience working in **internationally accredited hospitals** is highly desirable.
  • Candidates with clinical experience in **DHA (Dubai), DOH (Abu Dhabi), or MOHAP (Sharjah, Ajman, Ras Al Khaimah, Fujairah, and Umm Al Quwain)** licensed healthcare facilities are highly preferred. GCC experience is an added advantage.
  • Fellowship training or additional expertise in **Pediatric Bone Marrow Transplantation (BMT), Pediatric Hemostasis & Thrombosis, Sickle Cell Disease, Hemoglobinopathies, Pediatric Leukemia & Lymphoma, or Cellular Therapy** is an added advantage.
  • Experience in tertiary pediatric hospitals or comprehensive pediatric hematology/oncology centers is preferred.
  • Active participation in clinical research, quality improvement initiatives, and medical education is highly desirable.
