A client of Brunel is hiring a Construction Supervisor (Civil - Geotechnical) in Qatar to oversee earthworks and geotechnical activities for major capital projects. Candidates need 12-17 years of experience and a strong background in civil construction and geotechnical engineering.

Responsibilities
- Supervise construction/installation works of relevant engineering disciplines executed by contractors
- Review and provide comments on construction method statements, earthwork method statements, material submittals, commissioning procedures
- Act as performing authority for Permit to Work by Contractors
- Lead and direct earthworks and geotechnical activities for major capital projects
- Provide technical assurances to all aspects of earthworks
- Interpret soil classification and geotechnical reports
- Develop and monitor dewatering plan
- Assist and monitor third party field geotechnical engineer during construction
- Participate in construction meetings with consultants and contractors
- Coordinate with stakeholders for smooth earthworks execution
- Ensure compliance with technical assurances practices, project specifications, engineering standards, environmental and safety policies
- Review and approve technical deliverables related to earthwork and geotechnical activities
Requirements
- Minimum 12 17 years of experience in civil construction and geotechnical activities
- Experience in supervision of construction/installation works
- Knowledge of earthworks, soil classification, and geotechnical reports
- Ability to review construction method statements and material submittals
- Experience with Permit to Work systems
- Strong communication and coordination skills
- Safety leadership for site construction activities

Overview
- Responsible for supervision of construction/installation works of relevant engineering disciplines executed by contractors to ensure Department's assigned projects are constructed in accordance with the approved Scope of Work, approved engineering design, approved Engineering Standards and Specifica
Responsibilities
- Review and provide comments on construction method statements, earthwork method statements, material submittals, commissioning procedures from start of construction of projects till completion and handover to end users.
- Responsible as performing authority for Permit to Work by the Contractors.
- Responsible to take to lead and direct earthworks and geotechnical activities for major capital projects.
- Responsible to Provide technical assurances to all aspects of earthworks, from excavation, subgrade preparation to fill material selection and compaction.
- Responsible to Interpret soil classification and geotechnical reports.
- Responsible to develop and monitor dewatering plan.
- Assist and monitor the third party field geotechnical engineer during construction project earthworks.
- Actively participate in construction meetings with consultants and contractors.
- Coordinate with and promote teamwork amongst stakeholders, co workers and external organizations.
- To provide, with full responsibility and accountability, a technical service to Corporation in the Civil Construction activities, detailed design and execution stages to ensure Contractor(s) compliance to established national and international standards/specifications, procedures and regulations.
- Ensure compliance with Company technical assurances practices, project specifications, engineering standards, environmental and safety policies.
- Responsible for testing and approval of all aspects of earthworks and fill material.
