Job Description:
Review and interpret condition management data to diagnose failure modes
Communicate equipment condition to customers/Finning personnel to initiate preventive action
Ensure that customer processes are in place to utilize condition monitoring recommendations
Follow up on previous recommendations to ensure problem resolution and identify learning opportunities.
Provide recommendation at a fleet level to reduce customer cost and improve operator behavior
Actively participate in projects to improve condition monitoring processes
Specific Skills
- Strong understanding of mining equipment and component functionality
- Ability to read & understand the technical data sources available.
- Ability to correlate equipment and operational data to support maintenance recommendations
- Comfortable working with digital tools and data, and an interest in adopting emerging technologies and processes.
- Ability to continually manage competing priorities and respond effectively to urgent issues.
- Strategic thinking coupled with multi-angle approach to complex situations.
- Customer service focus with great ability to effectively communicate in English. (written/verbal)
- Strong Analytical Skills (problem solving).
- Self-motivated and detail oriented
- Ability to work with minimal supervision.
Knowledge
Knowledge of machine application, design, functionality and understanding the environmental effect on the equipment performance.
Working knowledge of engines, powertrain, hydraulics, electronic systems, and telematics.
Knowledge of condition monitoring workflow tools, telematics, and connected equipment technologies is an asset.
Understanding effective inspection process and equipment lifecycle planning
Knowledge of Fluid Analysis interpretation
Extended knowledge of mining equipment (Large Off Highway Trucks, Shovels, Track Type Tractors, Motor Graders) and mine site processes considered an asset.
Experience with data analysis, equipment databases, and data visualization tools is considered an asset.
Education & Experience
Heavy Duty Mechanic, Mechanical or Mining Engineering Degree, or similar education
Service experience at Finning or another Caterpillar dealer preferred.
Exposure to reliability-centered maintenance, fleet management, or equipment performance improvement initiatives would be considered an asset.
Experience working with equipment and operational data to identify trends and opportunities would be considered an asset.
5+ years of mechanical experience required
