Responsibilities
- Assist in preparation and production of pastries, desserts, cakes, breads, and baked products according to standard recipes
- Prepare and organize ingredients (mise en place) for daily operations
- Support the Pastry Chef in daily kitchen activities and production schedules
- Ensure consistent product quality and presentation standards
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the pastry kitchen, equipment, and workstations
- Follow food safety, hygiene, and HACCP standards at all times
- Properly store ingredients and finished products following FIFO procedures
- Minimize food waste and use ingredients efficiently
- Assist with inventory, stock rotation, and receiving deliveries when required
- Work collaboratively with the kitchen team to ensure smooth daily operations
- Perform other duties assigned by the Pastry Chef or Kitchen Management
Requirements
- Certificate or diploma in Culinary Arts or Pastry preferred
- 1 2 years of experience in a pastry or bakery environment preferred
- Basic knowledge of pastry techniques, baking, and dessert preparation
- Understanding of food safety and hygiene standards
- Ability to work in a fast paced environment
- Strong teamwork and communication skills
- Attention to detail and commitment to producing high quality products
- Flexibility to work shifts, weekends, and public holidays
