Responsibilities
- Manage daily operations of the pastry section and ensure smooth service
- Prepare and present high quality pastries, desserts, cakes, breads, and baked goods according to standardized recipes
- Maintain consistency in product quality, taste, and presentation
- Supervise, train, and support Commis Pastry staff
- Organize daily mise en place and ensure production is completed on time
- Monitor food quality, portion control, and minimize waste
- Ensure compliance with food safety, hygiene, and HACCP standards
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the pastry kitchen, equipment, and workstations
- Assist with inventory control, stock rotation (FIFO), and ordering requirements
- Collaborate with Executive Chef and Sous Chef to develop seasonal desserts and menu items
- Ensure all equipment is used safely and report maintenance issues
- Contribute to a positive, professional, and team oriented kitchen environment
Requirements
- Diploma or certification in Pastry Arts, Culinary Arts, or related field preferred
- Minimum 2 3 years of experience as a Pastry Chef de Partie or similar role
- Strong knowledge of pastry techniques, baking, chocolate work, and dessert preparation
- Understanding of HACCP and food safety standards
- Leadership and team management skills
- Strong attention to detail and creativity
- Ability to work efficiently under pressure in a fast paced environment
- Flexibility to work shifts, weekends, and public holidays
