Role Overview
The Commis 2 prepares food and special ad hoc requests under the direction of the Head Chef.
The role is part of the pastry or kitchen section and supports operational objectives while maintaining high quality standards.
Responsibilities
- Adhere to food safety, temperature records, HACCP, ISO 22000, and inventory management standards.
- Maintain food preparation, handling, storage, cleanliness, and product freshness standards.
- Prepare restaurant, banquet, buffet, special-function, and restaurant-supply items on time and to quality and quantity standards.
- Prepare daily restaurant requisitions and produce dishes according to recipes and specifications.
- Control costs through proper storage, portion control, and minimization of spoilage and waste.
- Report operational information to the Head Chef and equipment needing repair or maintenance.
- Check function sheets, daily menus, and promotions and attend relevant internal training.
- Support smooth section operations during line manager absences.
Requirements
- Graduation from a reputable culinary college or institute is desirable.
- Candidates should understand culinary preparation, cooking methods, and product knowledge.
- Previous exposure to HACCP, ISO 22000, and food safety standards is desirable.
- Previous kitchen experience is desirable; the posting references 1–2 years and separately lists 2 years as required.
- Fluent spoken and written English is required; Arabic is desirable.
- Good time management, organizational skills, and teamwork are required.

- Work location is in person in the kitchen or pastry section.
