Role Overview
The Assistant Cost Controller supports the F&B Cost Controller with food and beverage costing, menu pricing changes, and shortage solutions.
Responsibilities
- Monitor cost-control policies, management plans, contracts, and recommendation plans with the F&B Controller.
- Support menu changes and the process for adding ingredients and recipes.
- Highlight cost-saving opportunities.
- Run monthly cost-control audits and reports.
- Conduct random physical inventory checks each month.
- Prepare opening inventories and menu items before new store openings with the Line Manager and Finance team.
- Perform stock variance analysis and recipe transfers between locations.
- Analyze and monitor stock movements, trends, and fast-moving consumer goods.
- Report purchase-price changes affecting cost of sales.
- Update POS and MICROS systems to ensure accurate listings of current food, beverage, and retail items.
Requirements
- A college or university degree related to finance is required.
- 2–3 years of total experience, including at least 1–2 years in hospitality, catering, or FMCG.
- Excellent communication skills in English are required; Arabic is desirable.
- Intermediate proficiency in the MS Office suite is required.
- Experience with MICROS, Simphony, and Fidelio Material Control is required.
- ERP experience is desirable.
