Responsibilities
- Inspect surface preparation activities, including blasting and cleaning
- Verify coating application in accordance with approved procedures and specifications
- Check environmental conditions (temperature, humidity, dew point) before and during coating work
- Perform inspection of coating thickness, adhesion, and surface profile using calibrated instruments
- Identify coating defects such as blistering, peeling, holidays, and corrosion
- Ensure compliance with project specifications, safety standards, and quality procedures
- Prepare inspection reports and maintain quality records
- Coordinate with contractors, engineers, and QA/QC teams
Requirements
- Diploma or Technical Certificate in Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or related field
- Certified Coating Inspector qualification preferred (e.g., NACE International or AMPP certification)
- Minimum 3–5 years of coating inspection experience in oil & gas, marine, or construction industries
- Knowledge of coating systems, surface preparation, and corrosion protection
- Familiarity with inspection standards and procedures
- Ability to use inspection instruments (DFT gauge, surface profile gauge, etc.)
- Strong attention to detail and reporting skills
- Understanding of safety and quality requirements
