Role Overview
Administer, maintain, and optimize enterprise virtual desktop platforms for a reliable, performant, and secure virtual workspace.
Work across Endpoint Services, Infrastructure, Security, and Application teams to maintain service stability, manage images, deliver applications, and support user environments.
Responsibilities
- Administer Horizon, Azure Virtual Desktop, Windows 365, session hosts, and related Microsoft platform components.
- Maintain VDI golden images, base configurations, and application layers aligned with enterprise standards.
- Manage provisioning, patching, and update cycles across virtual desktop platforms.
- Troubleshoot connectivity, login, performance, FSLogix, printing, application access, and endpoint issues.
- Support FSLogix profiles, policy enforcement, and user environment configuration.
- Monitor VDI health, capacity, and performance, and escalate issues when needed.
- Support application publishing, testing, and deployment for full desktops and remote applications.
- Maintain technical documentation, procedures, and knowledge articles.
- Implement automation for power saving and load optimization.
Performance Measures
Measures include VDI service availability and stability, incident resolution time, image and application deployment success, repeat-issue reduction, and documentation accuracy.
