About the Role
The Civil Inspector works within the Construction Supervision Department and reports to the Resident Engineer and Section Engineers.
The role supports road and traffic construction projects by verifying structural quality, material compliance, and adherence to approved plans, specifications, codes, and contract documents.
Key Responsibilities
- Inspect construction projects, facilities, installations, materials, and workmanship for quality, safety, environmental, and regulatory compliance.
- Verify dimensions, levels, alignment, elevations, shop drawings, snag lists, and survey control point information.
- Monitor construction techniques and the installation of plumbing, wiring, equipment, and appliances.
- Maintain daily logs, photographs, inspection records, and accurate information about construction activities.
- Attend required off-site and out-of-country inspections for materials, samples, mock-ups, and testing.
- Ensure materials are properly stored and protected and that company policies, standards, laws, and regulations are followed.
Qualifications and Requirements
- Diploma or bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related technical field is preferred.
- At least 3 years of construction inspection, quality control, or site supervision experience is required.
- Roads or infrastructure project experience is preferred.
- Knowledge of construction codes, standards, and material specifications is required.
- Candidates must be able to interpret engineering drawings, shop drawings, and technical specifications.
- Basic surveying and measurement skills, strong communication, and documentation software proficiency are required.
- A valid driver’s license and reliable transportation are required for independent commuting.
Workplace
- The position is based at a remote project site and requires site inspections.
- Travel for off-site and out-of-country inspections may be required.
