Internship Overview

Civil Engineer Intern role based in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, within the Tamheer internship program.

The intern will gain practical civil engineering experience on design, planning, construction, and infrastructure initiatives.

The role involves working alongside experienced engineering professionals.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare and review technical drawings, blueprints, and design documents using CAD software.
  • Conduct site inspections and record field observations, measurements, and project progress.
  • Support senior engineers with project requirements and engineering solutions.
  • Create and maintain project documentation, reports, and technical specifications.
  • Support compliance with Saudi building codes, regulations, and safety standards.
  • Assist with estimating project costs, timelines, and resource requirements.
  • Coordinate project meetings and site visits.
  • Apply civil engineering principles to construction and infrastructure projects.
  • Support construction schedules and project management activities.
  • Maintain project records, databases, and technical data.

Required Qualifications

  • Currently enrolled in a civil engineering program or equivalent technical field.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD or similar CAD software.
  • Strong technical drawing interpretation and blueprint reading skills.
  • Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Analytical mindset with strong problem-solving abilities.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills in English.
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment.
  • Basic knowledge of construction processes and civil engineering fundamentals.
  • Familiarity with structural principles and building design concepts.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with Building Information Modeling software is preferred.
  • Knowledge of Saudi Arabian building codes and construction standards is preferred.
  • Previous construction or engineering site experience is preferred.
  • Understanding of project management concepts and methodologies is preferred.
