Circuit Design Engineer Stf - E4

You will be the Circuit Card Design Engineer for the Hardware Engineering team at Lockheed Martin Missiles and Fire Control (MFC).

Our team designs, develops and fields precision engagement aerospace and defense systems, delivering high reliability circuit card assemblies (CCAs) that power missiles, sensors and other mission critical subsystems.

As the Circuit Card Design Engineer you will oversee technical execution, translate system requirements into subsystem designs, and create electrical interface and power distribution architectures.

You will work closely with software, hardware and systems engineers, drive Integrated Master Schedule (IMS) tasking, manage procurement and testing, and guide the team through the Design Assurance process.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Developing detailed schematics, 3 D models and bill of materials for circuit card assemblies (CCAs) that meet size, weight, power and environmental constraints.
• Performing signal integrity, power integrity and thermal analyses to validate designs and ensure reliable operation in harsh missile environments.
• Creating and maintaining electrical interface control documents, connector specifications and power distribution layouts.
• Conducting design review and verification activities (PDR, CDR, TRR) and generating test plans, procedures and validation reports.
• Managing procurement of components, coordinating with suppliers, and tracking part availability to keep the schedule on track.
• Supporting hardware in the loop (HIL) testing, troubleshooting board level issues and implementing corrective actions.
• Enforcing Design Assurance standards, configuration control and documentation in Lockheed Martin PLM tools (e.g., Windchill, DOORS).
• Collaborating with software, hardware, systems, test and manufacturing teams to resolve integration challenges and align on requirements.
• Mentoring junior engineers, promoting best practice design methods and fostering a collaborative team culture.

The selected candidate must be able to obtain a secret clearance.

• Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering or a closely related STEM field from an accredited university
• Extensive experience with circuit card design, integration, and test across multiple domains (digital, power, analog, FPGA/SoC)
• Experience with developing and refining system requirements, including performance, interface, and environmental requirements
• Experience interpreting complex electrical schematics for circuit card assemblies
• Experience in missile level architecture development of new missile concept through Systems Requirement Review (SRR)
• Experience in leading team to further develop missile through flight demonstration in 4 years

• Experience with MIL-STD-1901 & MIL-STD-1901A
• Experience designing circuit cards for size-, weight-, and power-constrained (SWaP-constrained) platforms such as missiles, munitions, or other aerospace electronics.
• Proficiency with additional schematic capture and layout tools such as Cadence Allegro/OrCAD or Altium Designer.
• Experience with HyperLynx or similar signal integrity/power integrity (SI/PI) analysis tools.
• Familiarity with common interface standards such as IEEE Ethernet, PCIe, LVDS, and DDR.
• Familiarity with Modular Open Systems Approach (MOSA) and Weapon Open Systems Architecture (WOSA) principles.
• Experience supporting environmental testing (vibration, shock, thermal) of circuit card assemblies.
• Experience designing circuit cards around advanced/high pin-count FPGA devices (e.g., AMD Versal AI Edge or similar).
• Experience with high-speed SerDes interface design and associated signal integrity analysis.
• Experience with missile system and sensor architectures
• Previous LM / MFC experience

Full-Time Salary Range: $120600.00 - $224000.00
