Role Overview
Grand Mercure Dubai City is a 5-star Accor hotel with 361 rooms, dining venues, meeting facilities, and hotel engineering operations.
The Chief Engineer is responsible for engineering administration, facilities management, preventive maintenance, repairs, safety, fire protection, and coordination with corporate engineering.
Planning and Organization
- Coordinate engineering purchasing with the finance team according to hotel procedures.
- Maintain spare-parts stock at sufficient levels and register all incoming and outgoing items.
- Implement preventive-maintenance procedures, schedules, records, and the annual hotel maintenance program.
- Prioritize departmental workloads and repair breakdowns efficiently.
- Plan engineering training with the People and Culture or Learning and Development Manager.
- Coordinate regular firefighting training with the Director of Security.
- Review engineering staff schedules and annual leave plans to allocate resources effectively.
- Follow company documentation and the relevant Brand Standards Manual for Engineering.
Engineering Operations
- Follow Accor policies relating to fire, hygiene, health, and safety.
- Oversee hotel plant and technical installations, including sewage, fresh water, generators, air conditioning, building services, kitchen equipment, cooling systems, pools, lighting, music, television, and paging.
