Assistant Learning & Development Manager

Training Delivery

• Train and select departmental trainers for required fields.
• Coordinate and supervise internal technical training and courses for department heads and supervisors.
• Establish monthly departmental training schedules.
• Coordinate training activities with hotel leaders and regional learning and development stakeholders.
• Oversee property induction programs.
• Evaluate and update property training programs and initiatives.
• Identify development partners and drive e-learning within the property.
• Follow up with external course participants to ensure learning is applied in the workplace.

Quality Management

• Lead quality planning and a quality assurance committee that performs checks.
• Set quality assurance objectives and monitor achievement of targets.
• Conduct monthly quality assurance meetings and maintain action plans.
• Review guest feedback and staff performance to identify development opportunities.
• Assist with new-hire and recurrent training delivery.
• Review brand compliance assessments and coordinate improvement action plans.
• Promote quality and performance improvement throughout the hotel.
• Identify quality-related training needs and deliver training.
• Gather data, produce monthly statistical reports, and conduct internal audits and inspections.
• Coach and motivate managers and staff and complete special projects as assigned.

General Duties and Metrics

• Inform hotel leaders and supervisors about important operational events and news.
• Follow company documentation and the relevant Operational Standards Manual.
• Work according to the Learning and Development purpose and objectives.
• Use Trust You and quality-related systems.
• Metrics include Learning and Development audits, brand audits, Trust You and the Learning and Development budget.

Qualifications

• A relevant bachelor’s degree or equivalent education and work-related experience is required.
• At least two years of hospitality learning and development experience with a track record is required.
• Progressive experience managing and directing learning or organization development programs in a multi-unit organization is required.
• Strong oral and written communication, organizational and project management skills are required.
• Experience designing and delivering programs to multicultural, multi-level audiences is required.
• Understanding of people strategy and organizational effectiveness is required.
• Content design, coaching, teamwork, leadership and constructive feedback skills are required.
• Multicultural awareness and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment are required.
