Role overview
Manage a ship galley and ensure timely delivery of quality meals to guests and crew according to the menu plan.
Responsibilities
- Manage the galley efficiently and effectively.
- Maintain product quality, presentation, food safety, and consistency.
- Follow safe working practices.
Required qualifications and experience
- At least 3 years of commercial-kitchen experience.
- Understanding of food cost and portion control.
- Experience running a kitchen or galley day to day.
- Diploma in Culinary Arts or Hospitality Management.
- First Aid and CPR qualification.
- Passport.
- Tolerance for working and living with others in a small environment for extended periods.
Qualifications available to obtain
- The employer is willing to assist with an AMSA-endorsed Certificate of Safety Training.
- The employer is willing to assist with Crowd Control and Crisis Management, AMSA Medical, and an AMSA-endorsed Marine Cook Certificate.
- The employer is willing to assist with an Australian Seafarer’s book or equivalent discharge book.
