Responsibilities
- Studio Maintenance: Assist with the daily upkeep of the ceramics studio, including cleaning work areas, tools, and equipment to ensure a safe and organized environment.
- Equipment Management: Monitor and maintain ceramics equipment, such as kilns, pottery wheels, and glazing stations, reporting any issues or maintenance needs to the Ceramics Studio Manager.
- Supply Management: Track and manage ceramics supplies, including clay, glazes, and tools. Assist with inventory checks and help reorder materials as needed.
- Class Support: Provide support during ceramics classes by preparing materials, assisting students with equipment, and helping with setup and cleanup tasks.
- Safety Protocols: Ensure that all safety protocols and procedures are followed in the ceramics studio, including proper use of equipment and handling of materials.
- Student Assistance: Offer guidance and support to students working in the ceramics studio, including answering questions and providing assistance with techniques and processes.
- Collaboration: Work closely with the Lab Lead and Studio Manager to support studio operations and address any issues or needs that arise.
- Other Duties: Perform additional tasks as required to support the overall function of the ceramics area and contribute to a positive studio environment.
Required Qualifications
- Current student at Chapman University, preferably with an interest in ceramics, fine arts, or a related field.
