Purpose of the Project

  • The Cards Product and Portfolio teams require dedicated analytical capacity to strengthen data driven decision making across the card lifecycle.
  • This role will own the production and interpretation of portfolio performance reporting, diagnose trends and risks, measure campaign effectiveness, and translate data into actionable recommendations.

Core Responsibilities and Accountabilities

  • Portfolio performance reporting & monitoring (35%): Build, maintain, and deliver recurring and ad hoc performance dashboards.
  • Portfolio diagnostics & segmentation analysis (25%): Conduct deep dive analyses on portfolio segments.
  • Campaign measurement & effectiveness analysis (20%): Design and execute pre/post campaign analytics.
  • Data driven decision support (15%): Provide structured analytical support through insight packs and business cases.
  • Data quality & automation (5%): Identify opportunities to improve data integrity and automate reports.
  • Own and deliver the recurring cards portfolio performance reporting suite.
  • Diagnose portfolio health by conducting segmentation, cohort, vintage, and trend analyses.
  • Design and execute campaign measurement frameworks including A/B testing and control groups.
  • Develop and maintain interactive dashboards in Tableau/Power BI.
  • Translate analytical findings into clear insight packs for senior management.
  • Collaborate cross functionally with Product, Marketing, Risk, Operations, and Finance teams.
  • Continuously improve data extraction, transformation, and reporting processes.

Knowledge and Experience

  • 7 years in cards analytics, portfolio analytics, or business intelligence within banking, payments, or fintech.
  • Exposure to retail banking, consumer lending, or credit risk analytics preferred.
  • Understanding of card P&L structure and campaign lifecycle analytics.
  • SQL proficient in writing complex queries (mandatory).
  • Excel advanced (pivot tables, VLOOKUP, data modelling) (mandatory).
  • Tableau and/or Power BI dashboard design (mandatory).
  • Python or R for statistical analysis preferred.
  • SAS for portfolio analytics preferred.
  • CRM and campaign management platforms preferred.
  • Core banking / card management systems exposure preferred.

KPIs (illustrative)

  • Reporting timeliness & accuracy: % of scheduled reports delivered on time with <2% error rate.
  • Dashboard adoption: % of stakeholders actively using self serve dashboards (target: 70%+ monthly active users).
  • Campaign ROI measurement coverage: % of card campaigns with completed pre/post analysis within 10 business days.
  • Insight to action conversion: Number of analytical recommendations adopted per quarter.
  • Ad hoc request turnaround: Average time to deliver ad hoc requests (target: 3 business days).
  • Automation rate: Number of manual reports converted to automated per quarter.
