Cable Installation and Maintenance
- Install and maintain LV, MV, and HV power cables according to technical and safety requirements.
- Perform cable jointing and termination work.
- Prepare cables for jointing by cutting, stripping, insulation preparation, and connection.
- Inspect existing cable systems and identify defects or potential failures.
- Troubleshoot and repair damaged or faulty power cables.
Testing and Commissioning
- Conduct insulation resistance, continuity, and other cable tests.
- Support cable installation, testing, and commissioning activities.
- Inspect joints and terminations to ensure safe and reliable connections.
Records and Safety
- Maintain records of cable installations, testing, repairs, and maintenance.
- Follow PPE, PTW, LOTO, and electrical safety procedures.
- Coordinate with electrical technicians, engineers, and maintenance teams.
Requirements
- Technical secondary school, ITI, or diploma in electrical engineering, power systems, or a related field.
- 0–4 years of relevant experience.
- Practical knowledge of cable jointing and termination.
- Familiarity with electrical distribution networks.
- Knowledge of cable testing and fault identification.
- Utility, power distribution, substation, or electrical contracting experience is advantageous.
- Exposure to LV, MV, or HV power cables is preferred.
- Good understanding of electrical safety procedures.
