Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in teaching from an accredited institution
- Meet professional teacher education requirements of school
- 3 years’ full time teaching experience teaching from an accredited institution
- In depth knowledge and understanding of School curriculum (English National Curriculum – Primary) and associated assessment methods
- Proven leadership and management skills
- Strong planning and time management ability

Purpose of Role
- The purpose of the role of Specialist Business Teacher is to promote a love of learning across students of all abilities.
- The teacher will take shared responsibility for the planning, teaching, and assessment of Business at IGCSE and IBDP and Humanities at Key Stage 3.
- They will be expected to promote high standards of literacy, communication, and critical thinking, and to set high expectations which inspire, motivate, and challenge students.
Learning and Teaching
- Set high expectations which inspire, motivate and challenge pupils
- Establish a safe and stimulating environment for pupils, rooted in mutual respect
- Set goals that stretch and challenge pupils of all backgrounds, abilities and dispositions
- Be accountable for pupils’ attainment, progress and outcomes
- Be aware of pupils’ capabilities and their prior knowledge, and plan teaching to build on these
- Guide pupils to reflect on the progress they have made and their emerging needs
- Demonstrate knowledge and understanding of how pupils learn and how this impacts on teaching
- Encourage pupils to take a responsible and conscientious attitude to their own work and study
- Have a secure knowledge of the relevant subject(s) and curriculum areas
- Plan and teach well structured lessons
- Adapt teaching to respond to the strengths and needs of all pupils
- Make accurate and productive use of assessment
Minimum Educational Qualifications Required for the Role
- Bachelor’s Degree in teaching from an accredited institution
- Meet professional teacher education requirements of school
- Child Care and Protection
Minimum Years Of Experience Required
- 3 years’ full time teaching experience teaching from an accredited institution.
