Business Development Manager Posting Start Date: 8/24/26 Requisition ID: 69902 Apply now Informations générales Dubai, United Arab Emirates, 00000 INTERNATIONAL POWER S.A., DUBAI BRANCH Business Development / Sales / Marketing Permanent Full - Time Business Development Manager (based in UAE) Role Summmary: The Business Development Manager at Generation International is responsible for leading and driving certain aspects of the business development projects across gas and water desalination assets under the supervision of the Senior Business Development Manager MENA. This role involves developing new projects, managing partnerships, and overseeing the development process from initial prospection to final commitment. The position requires effective collaboration with internal and external stakeholders to ensure the successful execution of business development projects. Reporting to: Head of Business Development MENA Primary Location: Dubai Employee Status: Permanent Schedule: Full Time Key Accountabilities: · Identify, evaluate, develop, and execute new business development opportunities. · Provide solutions to issues encountered by the project based on a high level of business understanding. · Conduct assessment of a project, assess financial viability and risk creating factors, suggest viability of a project, coordinate and manage the entire risk analysis to help in decision making. · Ensure that projects presented to investment committees are being developed according to the highest standards (general project structure, risk assessment and mitigation, presentation materials for internal approvals). · Perform look-back evaluations on past projects in accordance with group guidelines. · Provide leadership on identified divestments, IPO, sell-downs, and asset rotation plans. · Develop a plan which meets both short and long term financial objectives, identify development priorities and potential asset rotation opportunities to create additional value for ENGIE. · Lead cross-functional teams consisting of development and other business functions to launch and advance new project opportunities. · Liaise with all internal functions, including legal, engineering and construction, commercial, and operations from project inception into operation; in particular coordinate with teams to effectively define, implement and work to priorities between and across project development and project execution activities. · ‘Program manage’ multiple initiatives. · Analyze and select the best technical configuration(s) and contractor(s) appropriate for company strategies and customers’ needs. · EPC contract(s) negotiations, facilitating project financing for expansions (where applicable), project structuring, market analysis, financial model inputs etc. · Analyze the project risk allocation. · Prepare, monitor, analyze and approve projects’ budgets, expenses as well as provides accommodating follow-up reports. · Coordinate activities with other internal groups to ensure proper analysis and structuring of projects, construct contractual arrangements for project development, and act as a liaison between internal and external specialists regarding procurement, contracting, permitting, financing etc. · Negotiate agreements with consultants and subcontractors. Knowledge and Skills: · Experience with technical, financial, economic, and legal aspects of business transactions. · Knowledge of Project Financing. · Knowledge of energy policy and regulatory frameworks in the countries concerned. · Project management skills. · Contract negotiation skills. · A good understanding of how a financial model behaves in different circumstances. · The ability to communicate convincingly. · Strong interpersonal skills. · Resilience to stress. · Fluent in English; knowledge of other languages is a plus. Technical Skills: · Proficiency in project management software (e.g., Microsoft Project, Primavera). · Advanced knowledge of financial modeling and analysis tools (e.g., Excel, MATLAB). · Familiarity with energy market analysis tools and software. · Understanding of EPC (Engineering, Procurement, and Construction) contract management. · Experience with CRM (Customer Relationship Management) systems. Experience: · Minimum 10 years working experience, of which minimum of 5 years of relevant working experience in business transactions and project development of energy and/or power projects, preferably in GCC. Qualifications: · University degree in Economics, Finance, or Engineering.
