Purpose of the Position
We are looking for candidates with expertise in both Information Technology and Business Administration for the role of IT Business Analyst.
IT Business Analysts are responsible for enhancing the quality of IT products and services, analyzing data to inform business decisions and finding technological solutions to business needs, among other duties.
The best IT Business Analysts have exceptional interpersonal skills as they need to act as a communication link between the IT and Executive branches.
Responsibilities & Duties
- Elicits, analyzes, specifies, and validates the business needs of stakeholders, be they customers or end users.
- Clearly identify project stakeholders and establish customer classes, as well as their characteristics.
- Conducts interviews to gather customer requirements via workshops, questionnaires, surveys, site visits, workflow storyboards, use cases, scenarios, and other methods.
- Identifies and establishes scope and parameters of requirements analysis on a project-by-project basis to define project impact, outcome criteria, and metrics.
- Works with stakeholders and project team to prioritize collected requirements.
- Assists in conducting research on products to meet agreed upon requirements and to support purchasing efforts.
- Analyzes and verifies requirements for completeness, consistency, comprehensibility, feasibility, and conformity to standards.
- Develops and utilizes standard templates to accurately and concisely write requirements specifications.
- Translates conceptual customer requirements into functional requirements in a clear manner that is comprehensible to developers/project team.
- Creates process models, specifications, diagrams, and charts to provide direction to developers and/or the project team.
- Uses ARIS for process modeling, documentation, and workflow design.
- Develops and conducts peer reviews of the business requirements to ensure correctness of interpretation.
- Assists in translating customer requirements into feasible solutions and communicates them to stakeholders.
- Manages and tracks requirements throughout the project lifecycle and manages changes as required.
- Communicates changes, enhancements, and modifications of business requirements.
- Provides guidance and support to junior team members.
- Understands strategic business needs and supports growth planning.
- Analyzes technical systems and business models.
- Utilizes IT data for business insights.
- Implements and supports new business technology solutions.
- Identifies technological solutions for business requirements.
- Produces reports on application development and implementation.
- Analyzes data to support business decisions.
Work Experience & Skills
- 6–10 years of experience in a similar role
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science or related field
- 3–5 years of relevant experience in requirements analysis and business process modeling
- Strong experience in business and technical requirements analysis, elicitation, modeling, verification, and methodology development
- Experience using
Aris
- for process modeling and documentation
- Strong project management skills, including planning, organizing, and resource management
- Proficient in Microsoft Office tools
- Strong understanding of organizational goals and business objectives
