- Prepare, monitor, and maintain annual and multi year budgets in line with organizational objectives
- Analyze budget proposals and financial forecasts to support strategic decision making
- Monitor actual expenditures against approved budgets and investigate variances
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual budget performance reports for management
- Coordinate with departments to gather budget requirements and provide financial guidance
- Support the budget planning cycle, including budget preparation, reviews, and revisions
- Develop financial models and forecasts to assess future funding requirements
- Ensure compliance with financial policies, procedures, and government regulations
- Recommend cost saving opportunities and improve budget utilization
- Assist in preparing presentations and reports for senior management and executive committees
- Support audits by providing budget related information and required documentation
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or equivalent combination of education and relevant business experience
- Minimum of 4 years of experience in similar field or position
- Professional certificate such as CIPFA, ACCA or CPA is preferred

Overview
- A Budget Specialist is responsible for planning, monitoring, and analyzing an organization's budget to ensure effective financial management.
