Role Overview

The Benefits Analyst provides group benefits consulting support, including plan design and financial management for clients and prospects.

The role works with internal consulting teams, vendors, and clients to support deliverables and quality standards.

The Benefits Analyst Will

  • Contribute to the design and management of group medical, dental, life, disability, and special risk benefits.
  • Perform annual renewal analysis, negotiate with carriers, and prepare client reports and presentations.
  • Complete experience reporting and budget projections, and review plan financial performance.
  • Review financial statements for accuracy and adherence to underwriting agreements.
  • Gather data and determine the cost impact of plan design changes.
  • Prepare marketing specifications, analyses, cost comparisons, recommendations, and marketing reports.
  • Support client presentation and meeting documents.
  • Participate in industry conferences and seminars to monitor industry trends.
  • Build relationships with clients, carriers, and internal cross-functional teams.

Required Qualifications

  • Post-secondary diploma or degree in business, mathematics, or a related discipline.
  • One to two years of experience in an analyst or related role.
  • Advanced competency with Microsoft Excel.
  • Proficiency with Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to manage competing demands, work independently and in a team, and handle confidential information.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in group benefits is preferred.
  • Knowledge of the Canadian benefits industry and employee benefits financial underwriting requirements is preferred.
  • Experience with Power BI or Tableau dashboards is preferred.

Salary Range

  • The base salary is CAD 75,000 to CAD 80,000 annually.
  • The base salary excludes variable compensation such as annual bonuses and commissions.
