- Welcome customers, assess preferences, present the menu, and answer questions about beans, brewing methods, and drinks.
- Craft espresso based drinks following established recipes and techniques.
- Recommend products, upsell where appropriate, and identify opportunities to attract new customers.
- Stock supplies, pastries, and brewing equipment; perform routine maintenance and troubleshoot issues.
- Uphold Fairmont Service Plus Standards, Accor policies, food safety regulations, and health & safety protocols.
- Process transactions accurately; complete shift end reports and safe deposits.
- Attend briefings and meetings; maintain positive colleague relationships; stay current on menus, promotions, and industry trends.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Available to work flexible hours including early mornings, weekends, and holidays
- Previous service experience an asset
- Previous point of sale system experience an asset
- Excellent communication and organizational skills
- Strong interpersonal and problem solving abilities
- Ability to work well under pressure in a fast paced environment
- Ability to lift and carry materials weighing up to 75 lbs occasionally

The Role
- As a Barista, you will prepare for Food and Beverage service and serve guests in line with the Food and Beverage concept.
- You will provide guests with the full experience that encompasses engaging & personalized service from beginning to end of service.

Essential Job Functions
- Welcome customers, assess preferences, present the menu, and answer questions about beans, brewing methods, and drinks.
- Craft espresso based drinks (espresso, lungo, latte, cappuccino, etc.) following established recipes and techniques.
- Recommend products, upsell where appropriate, and identify opportunities to attract new customers and expand offerings.
- Stock supplies, pastries, and brewing equipment; perform routine maintenance and troubleshoot issues.
- Uphold Fairmont Service Plus Standards, Accor policies, food safety regulations, and health & safety protocols.
- Process transactions accurately; complete shift end reports and safe deposits.

Education/Formal Training
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
Essential Physical Abilities
- Endure various physical movements throughout the work areas.
- Ability to grasp, bend, stoop, lift, push or pull heavy loads, and lift and/or carry or otherwise move materials weighing up to 75 lbs occasionally.
- Ability to work in a standing position for long periods of time (up to 5 hours).
