Job Purpose
Landmark Group is seeking an Azure Data Engineer to join the Data Team in Landmark Digital.
The role designs, deploys and optimizes data solutions using Azure services.
The role develops data pipelines, supports data quality and management, and contributes to data-driven decision-making.
Role Responsibilities
- Design, implement and optimize Azure data solutions and ETL pipelines.
- Use Azure Data Factory and Azure Data Lake to support efficient data processing and quality.
- Use complex stored procedures in Azure Databricks or Synapse for analytics on data volumes exceeding 50TB.
- Collaborate cross-functionally using Azure Synapse Analytics to support data-driven initiatives.
- Optimize data storage, processing and retrieval for performance, cost and scalability.
- Monitor and troubleshoot platform performance and recommend improvements.
- Automate deployment, configuration and monitoring with DevOps teams.
- Document technical designs, procedures and data platform guidelines.
Technical Environment
- The role uses Python, SQL or Scala, Azure Data Factory, Azure Data Lake Storage, Azure Databricks, Azure Synapse and Azure SQL Database.
- Additional technologies include Apache Spark, Hadoop, Power BI, Qlik, Data API Builder, Logic Apps, Azure DevOps and PowerShell.
- The role covers data modeling, warehousing, integration, governance, quality management and security.
Knowledge, Skills & Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering or a related field.
- Six to twelve years of experience designing and implementing Azure solutions.
- Experience with big data technologies and cloud infrastructure management.
- Understanding of network security and data security concepts.
- Retail experience and Azure certifications are preferred.
- Strategic planning, communication, collaboration and problem-solving skills are required.
