AVP & Audit Manager, Personal Banking (Emiratized)

Job Purpose

Audit Delivery

• Conduct audits across UAE operations, international entities, and subsidiaries under consumer, private, and business banking governance.
• Ensure audits follow annual plan objectives and are completed efficiently and effectively.
• Maintain the audit universe and coordinate audit coverage with other teams.
• Prepare risk assessments for process streams and applicable subsidiaries.
• Establish and maintain audit programs in the central audit management tool.
• Assess risks, governance, controls, data processing, asset safeguarding, and resource effectiveness.
• Review audit worksheets and reports, finalize findings, and agree documented management action plans.
• Follow up with management to ensure corrective actions are fully implemented.

Management and Stakeholder Support

• Provide guidance and on-the-job training to junior colleagues.
• Monitor assigned activities against budgets and report variances to management.
• Identify continuous improvement opportunities based on global standards and business changes.
• Act as an audit business partner to line managers and discuss emerging risks and control gaps.
• Provide ongoing consultancy on governance, risk management, and control improvements.
• Conduct investigations and special reviews assigned by audit leadership.
• Prepare accurate and timely functional reports that meet group requirements.

Qualifications and Experience

• Bachelor’s degree required.
• At least five years of relevant experience with an international bank or Big Four firm required.
• Relevant postgraduate, professional qualification, or certification is desirable.
• Internal audit experience is strongly preferred but not mandatory.
• Working knowledge of consumer, private, and business banking activities, processes, and associated risks required.
• Working knowledge of banking and audit policies, procedures, and relevant Central Bank regulations required.
• Self-directed approach, ability to manage multiple tasks, and ability to work under pressure required.
• Good analytical, verbal, and written communication skills required.
