Job Summary

  • The AV Presales Engineer is a technically advanced, commercially minded specialist responsible for designing robust AV integration solutions across the UAE and GCC markets.
  • The role bridges advanced system design with strategic project acquisition.
  • The incumbent leads AV system design, develops bid documentation, engages clients and consultants at senior level, and supports the sales team in securing landmark AV projects across corporate, government, hospitality, and education sectors.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Create detailed AV system designs including schematic line diagrams, signal flow topologies, rack layouts, cable schedules, and network architectural pathways.
  • Engineer advanced layouts incorporating DSPs, Unified Communications (UC) platforms, automated control infrastructure, and AV over IP networks.
  • Ensure all designs are technically sound, commercially optimised, and compliant with project specifications and industry standards.
  • Maintain current knowledge of emerging AV technologies and industry platforms relevant to the GCC market.
  • Review and interpret complex construction project documentation including structural plans, MEP layouts, ID drawings, reflected ceiling plans (RCPs), and tender specifications.
  • Develop comprehensive AV Bills of Quantities (BOQs), Bills of Materials (BOMs), and competitive project costings derived from architectural specification review.
  • Formulate Scopes of Work (SOW), technical solution narratives, architectural compliance matrices, and responsive technical RFP/RFQ bids.
  • Ensure all bid documentation is accurate, legally sound, and submitted within required timelines.
  • Conduct on site engineering surveys, physical technical assessments, and customer discovery sessions alongside the sales account management team.
  • Pitch customised AV engineering designs and present Value Engineering (VE) alternatives directly to consultants, main contractors, and executive decision makers.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with external consultants, clients, and cross functional internal teams.
  • Support the sales team in deal structuring, commercial positioning, and technical objection handling throughout the bid cycle.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Electronics, Electrical Engineering, IT, or related technical field
  • Degree in Audio Visual Technology or Systems Integration; AVIXA CTS D (Design) certification

Experience

  • 5+ years in AV presales and design within the UAE/GCC market
  • Proven track record on medium to large commercial AV projects (corporate, government, hospitality, education)
  • AVIXA CTS certification (mandatory)
  • Valid UAE driving licence and personal vehicle (mandatory)
  • 8+ years AV presales/design experience with senior client engagement
  • AVIXA CTS D (Design) certification active
  • Experience with command/control rooms and mission critical environments
  • Established regional vendor/distributor relationships in GCC

Technical Skills

  • AutoCAD, MS Visio for AV design and documentation
  • DSP platforms: QSC, Biamp, BSS
  • Control systems: Crestron, Extron, AMX
  • AV over IP: Dante, Crestron NVX, Q SYS
  • BOQ/BOM development from construction drawings
  • IT networking fundamentals: VLANs, QoS, IGMP, multicast
  • Revit, Bluebeam for advanced design workflows
  • IPTV, Digital Signage, AR/VR system integration
  • D Tools or similar estimation/project management software
  • Layer 2/3 network architecture for enterprise AV over IP deployments
