Role Overview
Custodial Services provides cleaning services for offices, classrooms, laboratories, and common areas at UBC's Vancouver Point Grey Campus.
The position is one of seven vacancies covering day and evening shifts and is part of the CUPE 116 service worker classification.
Compensation
- The compensation range is $25.46 to $26.81 CAD hourly.
Work Environment
- Building Service Workers report to custodial leadership and receive daily assignments from the Head Service Worker.
- Workers operate independently, in pairs, or in teams depending on the custodial task.
Work Performed
- Clean, disinfect, scrub, polish, wax, shampoo, and maintain surfaces throughout university buildings.
- Operate cleaning equipment and maintain supplies and equipment in good operating condition.
- Clean spills, windows, glass surfaces, shades, blinds, light fixtures, and other building features.
- Replenish consumable materials and collect garbage and waste.
- Clean sidewalks, clear snow when required, and perform minor tasks such as unplugging toilets.
- Report maintenance, repair, security, and unusual building conditions.
