Position Description: Job Title: Automation Engineer – Python Testing Position: Python Testing Experience: 6-8 years Category: Testing/ Quality Assurance Shift: General Main location: India, Telangana, Hyderabad Position ID: J0826-0755 Employment Type: Full Time Job Overview: CGI is looking for a skilled and experienced QA Automation Engineer with strong expertise in Python, Hadoop, Apache Spark, Pandas, and SQL. The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing and executing test strategies for data-intensive applications, validating large-scale data processing workflows, and developing automated testing frameworks using Python. Key Responsibilities • Design, develop, and execute automated and manual test cases for data engineering and analytics applications. • Develop robust Python-based automation scripts and testing frameworks. • Perform functional, regression, integration, and end-to-end testing of data pipelines. • Validate data processing and transformation using Hadoop and Spark ecosystems. • Perform testing of PySpark/Spark jobs, including data transformations, aggregations, joins, and business rules. • Use Pandas for data validation, comparison, analysis, and test-data preparation. • Validate data across source, staging, and target systems using SQL. • Perform data quality, data integrity, reconciliation, and ETL testing. • Identify, analyze, and troubleshoot defects in data processing workflows. • Collaborate with developers, data engineers, business analysts, and other QA teams to resolve issues. • Create and maintain test plans, test scenarios, test cases, automation scripts, and defect reports. • Participate in CI/CD and contribute to continuous improvement of QA automation processes. Mandatory Skills • Strong experience in QA / Software Testing. • Hands-on experience with Python for test automation. • Strong experience in Hadoop testing and big-data validation. • Hands-on experience with Apache Spark / PySpark. • Strong knowledge of Pandas for data validation and analysis. • Good understanding of SQL and database testing. • Experience in ETL/Data Pipeline Testing. • Strong understanding of functional, regression, integration, and system testing concepts. • Good analytical and troubleshooting skills. Good to Have • Experience with Selenium, PyTest, Robot Framework, or similar automation frameworks. • Knowledge of Hive, HDFS, Kafka, or other Hadoop ecosystem components. • Experience with CI/CD tools such as Jenkins, Git, or GitLab. • Exposure to cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP. • Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments.
