Responsibilities
- Technical Delivery & Project Leadership • Serve as the primary technical liaison for UK-based Nature Services & Arboriculture directors. • Lead the planning, execution, and delivery of ecology-related outputs from inception to completion. • Ensure high-quality technical deliverables that meet WSP and UK client standards. • Provide operational oversight and technical guidance to the GCC Ecology team. • Champion technical excellence across proposals, reports, and project documentation. • Drive innovation and apply advanced techniques to ecological design and contract solutions. Project & Commercial Management • Manage project scope, timelines, budgets, and risks to ensure successful outcomes. • Forecast workloads and allocate resources effectively to meet delivery targets. • Monitor and report on commercial performance, ensuring budget utilization and earning capacity are met or exceeded. • Identify and mitigate project variations to deliver commercial advantage. Quality & Compliance • Uphold local health and safety, welfare, risk, and information security standards. • Conduct robust reviews and provide constructive feedback to maintain high-quality outputs. • Promote Safety by Design and ensure compliance with internal systems and processes. Client & Business Engagement • Act as the technical face of the India-based Ecology team in client interactions. • Maintain strong relationships with internal and external clients to ensure satisfaction and repeat business. • Contribute to bids, marketing materials, and strategic business development. • Align team delivery with the UK GCC Charter and WSP’s Vision and Values.
Qualifications
- Significant experience in Environmental/Ecology disciplines, preferably within infrastructure development. • Membership in a relevant professional institution. • Proven track record of managing complex, multi-disciplinary projects. • Strong commercial acumen and accountability. • Excellent written and verbal communication skills. • Experience in mentoring and upskilling technical teams.
- BGV: • Employment with WSP India is subject to the successful completion of a background verification (“BGV”) check conducted by a third-party agency appointed by WSP India. • Candidates are advised to ensure that all information provided during the recruitment process — including documents uploaded — is accurate and complete, both to WSP India and its BGV partner”.
