The Release and Deployment Team safeguards production stability by governing and executing approved production and pre-production changes.
The team manages manual deployments, configuration updates, and privileged access activities under change governance, security, and regulatory controls.
Change governance and planning
- Review change requests for scope clarity, technical feasibility, risk, impact, rollback assessment, and governance compliance.
- Coordinate with application support, infrastructure, middleware, database, and platform teams on dependencies and technical clarifications.
- Verify required technical, security, business, and change approvals before deployment.
- Participate in Change Advisory Board meetings, release readiness reviews, and implementation planning.
Release and deployment execution
- Execute production and pre-production deployments strictly according to approved change requests and within approved change windows.
- Perform application releases, upgrades, configuration changes, middleware deployments, database scripts, and security or access changes.
- Support deployments across production, disaster recovery, pre-production, and UAT environments where required.
Privileged access and security
- Operate privileged accounts in accordance with CyberArk and bank security standards.
- Perform password withdrawal and return, Privileged Session Management, and secure functional and Type-C ID procedures.
- Maintain audit, session recording, evidence retention, regulatory control, and segregation-of-duties compliance.
Validation and incident support
- Perform technical-level validation after deployment and coordinate business-level validation with support teams and stakeholders.
- Capture execution logs, screenshots, session recordings, implementation transcripts, and audit artifacts.
- Provide Level-1 support during deployment failures, batch or job failures, production incidents, war rooms, and incident bridges.
- Escalate risks and failures and contribute to root cause investigations and corrective actions.
Continuous improvement
- Identify repetitive deployment activities suitable for automation and support CI/CD, DevOps, and release automation initiatives.
- Maintain deployment runbooks, standard operating procedures, and knowledge repositories.
- Participate in cross-training and knowledge sharing to improve operational resilience.
Experience requirements
- 4 to 8 years of experience in production support, release management, change management, DevOps operations, or IT operations.
- Experience in banking or financial services environments is highly preferred.
- Exposure to regulated production environments with strict governance and audit controls.
Technical qualifications
- Strong foundation in Linux administration, with working knowledge of Unix and Windows; basic shell scripting is preferred.
- Experience supporting deployments across production, pre-production, and disaster recovery environments.
- Understanding of release management, change management, ITIL, and change governance frameworks.
- Knowledge of middleware, application server administration, system configuration, and environment management.
- Basic understanding of Oracle Database, PostgreSQL, SQL execution and validation, CyberArk, PAM, CI/CD, DevOps, and OpenShift.
- Good understanding of operating system patching, database patching, and OpenShift platform maintenance.
Core competencies
Strong attention to detail and a risk and control mindset.
Ability to work under pressure during critical production releases.
Strong stakeholder communication, coordination, analytical problem-solving, and troubleshooting skills.
Ability to work effectively across L1, L2, L3, engineering, infrastructure, and business teams.
