Business Function

DBS Corporate and Investment Banking provides commercial banking products including cash management, deposits, trade finance, working capital finance, term loans, and foreign exchange.

Job Purpose

Acquire and build a diversified portfolio in the IBG4 segment with revenue from assets, trade, cash, treasury, and fees.

Deliver portfolio growth and income in accordance with the bank's lending guidelines.

Key Accountabilities

  • Source new-to-bank asset relationships within the IBG4 segment up to the stated turnover threshold and follow bank lending policy.
  • Generate net interest income and fees through cross-selling trade, liabilities, cash, treasury, and other products.
  • Increase branch profitability and maintain portfolio quality with no delinquencies targeted.
  • Execute IBG4 strategy, grow market share, diversify the portfolio, and reduce concentration risk.
  • Build DBS brand value and local networks through marketing activities, collaborations, and events.
  • Follow bank processes and policies and support positive country and group audit ratings.

Job Duties and Responsibilities

  • Source asset relationships, coordinate sanction and disbursement, and work with customer, risk, and operations teams.
  • Cross-sell asset, trade, cash, and treasury products and achieve budgeted product revenues.
  • Conduct due diligence and create account plans covering revenue potential, risks, and mitigants.
  • Explore cross-selling opportunities to increase customer wallet share.
  • Monitor accounts, track business developments and early warning signals, and ensure timely renewals.
  • Ensure credit covenants, conditions, KYC/AML requirements, and bank policies are followed.
  • Provide MIS and report material business opportunities and industry or customer risks to senior management.
  • Complete assigned learning programs and maintain contact with local business stakeholders and market participants.

Requirements

  • 3–5 years of overall sales experience is required.
  • 2–3 years of SME or business banking lending sales experience is required.
  • 2–3 years of working capital sales and service portfolio experience is required.
  • A proven asset-business sales record in the SME or business banking segment is required.
  • Competitor and marketplace knowledge is required.
  • SME market knowledge and experience are preferred.

Education and Competencies

  • A bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, or Commerce, an MBA, or CA qualification is preferred.
  • Excellent communication and listening skills and good sales and negotiation skills are required.
  • Working capital finance knowledge is required.
