About the Role
Buro Happold seeks an experienced Crowd Specialist to lead transport and mobility projects in Jeddah. You will direct multidisciplinary crowd movement workstreams, provide technical expertise in pedestrian dynamics, and drive work winning across the Middle East.

Responsibilities
- Lead multidisciplinary crowd movement and people flow workstreams as Project Director or discipline lead
- Provide day to day leadership, coaching and mentoring to junior and mid level team members
- Actively contribute to work winning across Saudi Arabia and the wider Middle East
- Provide technical expertise in crowd movement, pedestrian dynamics and people flow planning
- Provide strategic advice to clients on crowd related solutions
- Ensure quality of projects and deliverables through robust internal review processes
- Develop and maintain positive relationships with clients and stakeholders
- Work closely with global crowd specialists and regional teams to share knowledge
- Review, direct and compile high quality technical reports, modelling outputs and presentations
- Support growth of regional crowd dynamics offer by defining service lines and recruiting key talent
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in engineering, transport planning, urban planning, architecture or related field
- 15+ years of experience in crowd dynamics, pedestrian movement or related fields
- Proven track record leading complex crowd and people flow projects in the Middle East
- Experience as Project Director on multidisciplinary crowd, mobility and master planning projects
- Deep knowledge of advanced crowd simulation software (MassMotion, Legion, Pathfinder, STEPS, Pedestrian Dynamics or similar)
- Strong understanding of crowd psychology and behavior under normal and emergency conditions
- Proven record in work winning, including proposal preparation and client presentations
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
- Ability to lead, manage and mentor teams

Your Skills And Experience
- Bachelor's degree in engineering, transport planning, urban planning, architecture or related field.
- 15+ years of experience in crowd dynamics, pedestrian movement or related fields.
- Demonstrable experience acting as Project Director on multidisciplinary crowd, mobility and master planning projects.
- Deep knowledge of advanced crowd simulation software (MassMotion, Legion, Pathfinder, STEPS, Pedestrian Dynamics or similar).
- Recognised crowd and people movement thought leader.
- Strong understanding of crowd psychology and behavior under normal and emergency conditions.
- Proven record in work winning.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal and stakeholder management skills.
- Strong critical thinking, analytical and problem solving skills.
- Demonstrated ability to lead, manage and mentor teams.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a multi disciplinary team.
- Ability to prioritise workload effectively and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
