Role Overview
The Assistant Bakery Operations Manager is a leadership pipeline role designed to develop future Bakery Operations Managers.
The role performs near-manager-level bakery operations while building the leadership skills needed to run a bakery independently.
The position is based at the Hell's Kitchen store at 796 9th Ave, New York, NY 10019.
Operational Execution
- Execute inventory rotation, scheduling support, staffing coordination, and administrative checklists.
- Maintain product quality, cleanliness, food safety, and guest experience standards.
- Support ordering, inventory accuracy, shrink control, schedule creation, and labor execution.
Talent and Team Development
- Support recruiting, interviewing, onboarding, and training of new staff.
- Provide coaching and real-time performance feedback.
- Hold team members accountable and ensure training programs meet company standards.
Leadership and Ownership
- Manage bakery operations independently when the Bakery Operations Manager is absent.
- Partner with Bakery Operations Manager and Area leadership to address operational gaps.
- Maintain continuity during leadership transitions or staffing shortages.
Qualifications and Experience
- At least one year of leadership experience in restaurant, retail, or hospitality operations.
- Strong operational discipline, attention to detail, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to coach hourly team members, work in fast-paced high-volume environments, and perform all bakery roles during peak periods.
Position Perks
- Pay is $20.00 to $23.00 per hour with bonus eligibility.
