Position Summary
- The Business Instructor is responsible for delivering high quality instruction that provides students with an early introduction to the fundamental concepts, principles, and career pathways of business.
Key Responsibilities
- Teach introductory business courses such as Introduction to Business Concepts, Principles of Management, or Business in a Global Context.
- Deliver engaging instruction using case studies, industry examples, and real world problems.
- Guide students in understanding the scope of business, current industry trends, and potential career pathways.
- Participate in curriculum development and continuous program improvement.
- Develop engaging lesson plans aligned with course objectives, discipline standards, and institutional standards.
- Create a supportive, inclusive learning environment.
- Support students through office hours, academic advising, major selection guidance, and pastoral care.
- Assess student understanding through various formative and summative assessment methods.
- Provide constructive feedback to help students develop disciplinary understanding.
- Collaborate with business program faculty to ensure alignment with degree program requirements.
- Maintain detailed records of student progress and attendance.
- Participate in department meetings and professional development activities.
