About the Role

Responsibilities
- Assist the Pastry Chef in supervision of assigned pastry team members
- Maintain quality and consistency in taste according to recipes and photos
- Set up pastries display in all buffets and teatime
- Ensure USPH rules and regulations are followed throughout the operation daily
- Ensure pastry galley cleaning schedule is followed
- Monitor food production and record leftovers to minimize wastage
- Assist with preparation of food requisitions for the Pastry Shop
- Assist Executive Pastry Chef with completing daily pastry consumption recap
Requirements
- Minimum of two years' experience as a Pastry Chef or equivalent in an upscale hotel, resort, cruise ship or convention banqueting service
- Culinary school degree required
- Very strong management skills in a multicultural and dynamic environment
- Very strong communication, problem solving, decision making, and interpersonal skills
- Superior customer service, teambuilding, and conflict resolution skills
- Knowledge of USPH rules and regulations
- Intermediate computer software skills

Key Responsibilities
- Assists the Pastry Chef in supervision of assigned pastry team members.
- Directs, coaches, supports, supervises, and evaluates performance of direct reports.
- Responsible for maintaining quality and consistency in taste according to recipes and photos.
- Sets up pastries display in all buffets and teatime.
- Has complete knowledge of USPH rules and ensures they are followed daily.
- Ensures pastry galley cleaning schedule is followed.
- Ensures all pastry team members are on time and in proper uniform.
- Monitors food production and records leftovers to minimize wastage.
- Assists with preparation of food requisitions for the Pastry Shop.
- Assists Executive Pastry Chef with completing daily pastry consumption recap.
- Ensures all requisitioned items arrive and are stored properly.
- Must be present in early standby during USPH inspections.
Qualifications and Education
- Minimum of two years' experience as a Pastry Chef or equivalent in upscale hospitality.
- Culinary school degree required.
- Very strong management skills in multicultural environment.
- Very strong communication, problem solving, decision making, and interpersonal skills.
- Superior customer service, teambuilding, and conflict resolution skills.
- Knowledge of USPH rules and regulations.
- Intermediate computer software skills.
- Good understanding of basic accounting principles.
- Ability to write reports and business correspondence.
