Responsibilities
- Review, draft, and negotiate a variety of commercial contracts including warehousing, freight forwarding, transportation, vendor contracts, NDAs, and customer SLAs
- Ensure all contracts adhere to relevant legal requirements, industry standards, and internal policies
- Identify legal risks and propose practical, business oriented solutions
- Provide timely legal advice to operational, commercial, procurement, and senior leadership teams on contract interpretation, liabilities, indemnities, insurance, and dispute related matters
- Advise on regulatory compliance impacting logistics operations including transportation regulations, customs compliance, safety standards, data protection, and cross border trade requirements
- Conduct risk assessments and create mitigation strategies for contract related exposures
- Partner with business units to understand operational needs and ensure contracts reflect accurate service scopes and responsibilities
- Support commercial teams during customer negotiations, offering legal insight to secure favorable and compliant terms
- Coordinate with external counsel when specialized expertise is required
- Contribute to the development and enhancement of contract templates, legal guidelines, and governance frameworks
- Monitor changes in laws and regulations relevant to logistics, supply chain, and commercial contracting
Requirements
- Experience in reviewing, drafting, and negotiating commercial contracts
- Knowledge of legal requirements and industry standards for logistics operations
- Ability to identify legal risks and propose practical solutions
- Experience advising on regulatory compliance including transportation regulations, customs, safety, data protection, and cross border trade
