Assistant finance manager - Naoero Medical Centre

Role Overview

Key Responsibilities

• Assist with daily finance and accounting operations.
• Prepare and analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports.
• Support budgeting, forecasting, financial planning, and variance analysis.
• Monitor accounts payable, accounts receivable, cash flow, and general ledger functions.
• Support month-end and year-end closing.
• Maintain financial records and perform account reconciliations.
• Support financial controls, policies, procedures, and audit coordination.
• Ensure compliance with accounting standards and regulatory requirements.
• Provide financial analysis and recommendations to management.
• Support cost management and departmental budget monitoring.
• Monitor healthcare expenditures, procurement costs, inventory transactions, and operational budgets.
• Assist with payroll accounting and financial process improvements.

Qualifications and Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Commerce, or a related discipline.
• ACCA, CPA, CMA, CA, or an equivalent professional accounting qualification is required.
• Three to five years of relevant finance and accounting experience.
• Healthcare facility or healthcare services experience is essential.
• Strong knowledge of financial reporting, accounting principles, budgeting, forecasting, and internal controls.
• Good understanding of IFRS and other relevant accounting standards.
• Proficiency in ERP or accounting systems and advanced Microsoft Excel.
• Experience supporting internal and external audits.
• Strong analytical, organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work independently, manage priorities, and maintain accuracy and professional integrity.
• Willingness and ability to relocate to Naoero, Nauru.
