Job Overview

The Assistant Director of Operations will play a pivotal leadership role in overseeing the end-to-end operational delivery of ultra-luxury events and banqueting experiences in Saudi Arabia.

This position requires a strong, confident, and independent leader capable of managing large operational teams while maintaining exceptional service standards in high-pressure, high-profile environments.

The ideal candidate is an “out-of-the-box” thinker who combines creativity with structure, ensuring innovative yet flawlessly executed event experiences for elite and royal clientele.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and oversee day-to-day operations across multiple ultra-luxury events and banqueting functions
  • Manage, mentor, and develop a team of approximately 75 operational staff across different functions
  • Ensure seamless coordination between all departments including service, culinary, logistics, and event production
  • Maintain the highest standards of service excellence, particularly for VIP, royal, and high-net-worth clientele
  • Act as a senior operational authority on-site, ensuring smooth execution of all events from planning through to completion
  • Implement and uphold operational SOPs, ensuring consistency and efficiency across all events
  • Drive innovative, creative solutions to enhance guest experience and operational performance
  • Lead by example with a firm but fair management approach, ensuring accountability and team discipline
  • Oversee workforce planning, rostering, and deployment to ensure optimal coverage for large-scale events
  • Manage real-time problem-solving during events, ensuring swift resolution of operational challenges
  • Collaborate closely with senior leadership to align operational execution with strategic business goals
  • Monitor performance standards and continuously improve service delivery through training and feedback

Qualifications & Requirements

  • Extensive experience in ultra-luxury events, banqueting, or high-end hospitality operations
  • Proven track record in a senior operational leadership role managing large teams (50+ staff minimum)
  • Strong, confident, and independent leadership style with the ability to command respect and drive performance
  • Demonstrated ability to manage complex, high-volume operations in fast-paced, high-pressure environments
  • Creative and “out-of-the-box” thinker with strong problem-solving capabilities
  • Deep understanding of luxury service standards, VIP protocols, and high-profile guest expectations
  • Experience working in the GCC, preferably within Saudi Arabia or similar luxury-driven markets
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and people management skills
  • Strong presence with the ability to lead both operational teams and interact with elite clientele when required
  • Flexibility to work demanding schedules including evenings, weekends, and large-scale event operations
