- Attend ASME Code shops audit during Pre Joint Review/Joint Review with ASME Team Leader
- Perform periodical audit on ASME Code shops
- Confirm corrective action has been verified by ASME Code shops to ensure Code compliance
- Assist INP Manager/ASME Authorized Inspector Supervisor on technical issues
- Witness welding procedure qualification tests and welder/welding operator performance tests
- Ensure proper fit up by checking edge preparation
- Monitor pre heating temperature, welding consumables, parameters
Requirements
- ASME/National Board Commission with 'A' endorsement
- CSWIP 3.1 or 3.2 or AWS CWI or approved equivalent
- ASNT/PCN Level II in RT, UT, MT & PT or approved equivalent
- Degree/Diploma in Mechanical/Electrical Engineering or HNC
- Minimum 10 years experience in similar field
- Strong knowledge of International Codes & Standards such as ASME, API, ANSI, ASTM, BS
- Experience with Boiler & Pressure vessel Material/Welding/NDT Inspection according to relevant Codes

Position Overview

Minimum Required Qualifications
- Specialty: ASME/National Board Commission with 'A' endorsement
- CSWIP 3.1 or 3.2 or AWS CWI or an approved equivalent
- ASNT/PCN Level II in RT, UT, MT & PT or an approved equivalent
- Education: Degree/Diploma in Mechanical/Electrical Engineering or HNC
- Training: ASME/National Board Commission with 'A' training; Bureau Veritas Shop Inspection Guidelines; CSWIP 3.1 or 3.2 or AWS CWI or an approved equivalent preferred; ASNT/PCN Level II in RT, UT, MT & PT or an approved equivalent
- Technical knowledge: Strong knowledge of International Codes & Standards such as ASME, API, ANSI, ASTM, BS etc.
- Experience with Boiler & Pressure vessel Material/Welding/NDT Inspection according to relevant Codes
- Application of Codes and Standards, Project specifications and Procedures

Primary Functions
- Review of applicable contractual requirements (Technical standards, specifications etc.)

- Definition of Bureau Veritas interventions
- Selection of the most appropriate inspection techniques
- Execution or supervision of inspection according to pre defined Quality Plan and established inspection procedures/techniques
Additional Responsibilities
- Execution of inspection reporting including treatment of Non conformities (NCR’s) and other applicable deliverables
- Ensuring quality of inspection according to ASME / BV Quality System
- Interpretation of results of inspections
- Treatment of Non conformities / corrective actions
- Review and appraisal of inspection procedures
- Maintaining internal and external communication
- Provide Technical guidance for Inspectors / Surveyors of a lower level
- Promotes Bureau Veritas / ONE/TuV/BV service portfolio to clients
- Respects security guidelines of Bureau Veritas and safeguards personal security in the working environment
- Actively participates in the sharing of knowledge and information (Knowledge Management)
- Witness welding procedure qualification tests
- Witness welder and welding operator’s performance tests
Inspection Duties
- Ensure proper fit up by checking edge preparation (bevel angles, root gap, land, overlap etc.)
- Monitor pre heating temperature, welding consumables, parameters
- Ensure welding works are performed as per approved procedures (WPS) and welders
- In process welding surveillance and visual inspection of weld finish
- Monitor storage, handling and baking of welding consumable
- Ensure that fabrication is carried out as per approved drawings / Inspection test plans
- Monitor NDT / PWHT and review reports
- Review radiography films and endorse RT reports
- Prepare inspection reports on time and submit to INP Manager and/or Worldwide Shop Inspection Coordinators for review and further action
Technical Expertise
- Application of codes and standards, project specifications and procedures
- Within his field of competency, the inspector is expected to conduct the activities stated in Primary functions
- Fully conversant with relevant inspection techniques and able to select the most appropriate inspection technique
- Able to verify and approve Non conformities / corrective actions
- Able to identify required Bureau Veritas interventions, based on a pre defined Quality Plan and according to specified standards
- Able to review / appraise inspection procedures
- Able to manage one or more level 1 Inspectors / surveyors
Business Requirements
- Report to INP Manager / ASME Authorized Inspector Supervisor about inspection, non compliance /discrepancy to ASME Code
Self Management
- Maintains a high degree of expertise through permanent specialized training and knowledge management
- Ensure that inspection is carried out as per approved drawings / Inspection test plans
- Meet project development objectives
- Should be Results oriented, Service driven and Problem solving
- Comply with company regulations, procedures and Code of Ethics
Customer Focus
- Ensure that Inspection is carried out as per Purchase order / approved drawings / Inspection test plans and other applicable Technical specifications
- Maintain regular job related contact with clients and Liaises with client and/or Project Management Consultant with ease
- Understand client needs and work to achieve successful project outcomes
- Develop trust and open communication with the client
- Regularly monitor customer satisfaction
HSE Requirements
- Comply at all times with all applicable legal requirements, BV Group HSE Policies and procedures, client’s HSE procedures and practices
- Maintain personal work areas tidy and hazard free and report any deviation/fault/hazard immediately to the location manager/line manager/supervisor
- Report immediately any newly identified hazard and participate in devising suitable operational control to eliminate/minimize the pertinent risk
- Report immediately any HSE incident and cooperate in investigation
- Use appropriate PPE at work area and be aware of the risks appropriate PPE will control or minimize
- Report immediately in case the PPE is worn off or lost
- Maintenance and inspection arrangements
- PPE replacement procedures
