- Deliver against territory sales objectives, market share goals, and business priorities
- Collaborate closely with Medical, Market Access, Marketing, and other customer facing teams
- Support healthcare providers in understanding patient pathways, diagnosis challenges, and treatment options
Requirements
- Relevant university degree; Master’s degree is an advantage
- Minimum 5 years of experience in a similar commercial role within the pharmaceutical industry
- Experience within the Gulf region pharmaceutical market environment
- Rare Disease experience preferred, or strong learning agility
- Commercial experience across the UAE required; broader Gulf experience is highly desirable
- Proven track record of achieving and exceeding sales objectives
- Strong stakeholder engagement, influence, negotiation, and relationship management skills
- Excellent analytical and business planning capabilities
- Arabic and English language proficiency required

About This Role
- As an Area Business Manager, Rare Diseases, you will play a critical role in driving patient identification, market development, and commercial success across the UAE and selected Gulf markets for Biogen’s Rare Disease portfolio.
- This is not a traditional sales role. As the territory expert, you will own and drive your business independently, developing and executing territory, account, and customer engagement strategies while helping remove barriers to diagnosis, treatment access, and patient care.
- You will build strong partnerships with physicians, multidisciplinary care teams, pharmacists, treatment centers, diagnosis centers, and other stakeholders involved in the rare disease patient journey.
- This role offers significant autonomy, visibility, and regional exposure.
What You'll Do
- Develop and execute territory and account plans to drive patient identification, market development, and commercial performance.
- Build deep understanding of key accounts, referral networks, treatment pathways, stakeholder priorities, and decision making processes.
- Establish and maintain strong relationships with neurologists, treatment centers, diagnosis centers, KMEs, and other key stakeholders involved in rare disease care.
- Drive awareness, patient identification, retention, and support initiatives in collaboration with cross functional partners.
- Deliver against territory sales objectives, market share goals, and business priorities while effectively managing resources and activities.
- Develop annual territory business plans with clear account priorities, opportunities, risks, and action plans.
- Identify and assess patient access opportunities and barriers across the patient journey.
- Provide field insights and customer feedback to support commercial strategy and integrated customer engagement planning.
- Mobilize internal and external resources to address customer needs and improve patient outcomes.
- Collaborate closely with Medical, Market Access, Marketing, and other customer facing teams to drive alignment and execution.
- Support peer to peer education programs, speaker initiatives, referral network development, and rare disease awareness activities.
- Build trust and influence across multiple stakeholders to drive decisions and remove barriers to care.
Required Skills
- Relevant university degree; Master’s degree is an advantage.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in a similar commercial role within the pharmaceutical industry.
- Experience within the Gulf region pharmaceutical market environment.
- Rare Disease experience preferred, or strong learning agility to quickly develop expertise in rare neurological diseases.
- Commercial experience across the UAE required; broader Gulf experience is highly desirable.
- Proven track record of achieving and exceeding sales objectives.
- Strong stakeholder engagement, influence, negotiation, and relationship management skills.
- Excellent analytical and business planning capabilities.
- Ability to work effectively across a matrix organization and lead through collaboration.
- Strong scientific aptitude with the ability to discuss complex clinical information confidently.
- Arabic and English language proficiency required.
- High integrity, strong accountability, and commitment to compliance and ethical business practices.
