Assist in the pruning and trimming of trees to maintain healthy growth and structural integrity

Help with tree removal and disposal of limbs, branches, and tree debris
Participate in tree planting and care, ensuring proper planting techniques and soil management
Participate in the safe removal of trees, either by cutting down trees or removing large limbs that may pose a hazard to people or property
Learn proper cutting techniques to avoid harming the tree and to promote healthy growth
Operate and maintain arborist tools and equipment (chainsaws, ropes, aerial lifts, stump grinders) safely and efficiently
Assist in the identification of tree diseases, pests, and other issues affecting tree health
Follow all safety protocols and wear appropriate protective equipment, including helmets, gloves, and harnesses
Keep work areas clean and organized, removing debris and ensuring a safe environment for the crew
Learn the proper techniques for using aerial lifts or bucket trucks when working in tall trees
Keep records of tree work performed, including pruning, removal, and treatments
Report any issues or hazards encountered during tree care work to supervisors
Ensure work is done in compliance with environmental regulations, minimizing damage to natural habitats and wildlife
Attend training sessions and learn from experienced arborists to build knowledge in tree care techniques and vegetation management
Be willing to grow and learn in the role, through training from a designated arborist
Support, actively participate, and act in accordance with Wright’s culture of safety and employee ownership
Comply with applicable federal, provincial, and municipal laws, rules, and regulations; maintains knowledge of and follows all company policies and procedures
Maintain regular and punctual attendance at work and meetings
Other Duties
Position may require some outside travel
During emergencies or natural disasters may be required to be on duty for the duration of the disaster
Works around excessive noise from machines, chainsaws, woodchipper and must wear proper personal protective equipment
Experience and Knowledge Expectations
Valid Class 5 drivers’ license, with air endorsement or willingness to obtain.
Pre-employment drug screen required.
Current First Aid with CPR or willingness to obtain.
Ability to withstand exposure to all kinds of weather and environmental conditions.
